Position: Bilingual Junior Teacher Technician Trainee

Duration: 8 consecutive weeks (applicant must be available for every shift)

July 2, 2019 – August 23, 2019

Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs and Fri from 9:30 am – 3:30pm

Pay per hour: $14.00
Position Summary: The hired candidate will learn the following under supervision of a professional ceramics instructor:

·         Techniques of handbuilding

·         Preparing and teaching students handbuilding

·         Ceramic technical work including glazing and kiln loading

·         Some experience on the wheel will be taught

Qualifications Candidates should have:

·         A student with minimum of 18 years of age by Dec 2019 to the maximum age of 30 years

·         Bilingual (French and English) oral proficiency in each official language

·         Love of creative art

·         Good communication skills

·         Outgoing personality

·         Ability to follow direction and multitask

Assets: Preferred candidates would have these assets but not essential:

·         Some experience with children (babysitting, camps etc)

·         First Aid and CPR

·         Experience with the medium of clay

Essential Job functions: Candidate will shadow the instructor and aid in the instruction of making clay projects with children and adults. Candidate will abide by the health and safety policies and procedures of Gloucester Pottery School.
